NORWAY : Buffalo Technology lanserer USB 3.0-kort for bærbare pc-er
Med USB 3.0 Express Interface Card fra Buffalo får til og med bærbare pc-er enkel tilgang til de nye og raske harddiskene med USB 3.0

Buffalo Technology lanserer nå et USB-3.0 kort for bærbare pc-er i form av et Express Card. Med Buffalo USB 3.0 Express Interface Card kan dermed alle som har en bærbar pc med Express Card-plass dra nytte av den nye og betydelig raskere USB 3.0-teknologien. USB 3.0 tilbyr overføringshastigheter på opp til 5 Gbps, noe som er rundt 10 ganger raskere enn den dominerende USB 2.0-standarden som er i dag. Ekspansjonskortet har to USB 3.0-kontakter og disse er i tillegg bakoverkompatible med USB 2.0. Kortet passer i alle pc-er med ExpressCard/34 eller /54. Støtte finnes for Windows 7 (32- og 64-bit), Windows Vista (32- og 64-bit) og Windows XP. Buffalo var først ute på markedet med en ekstern USB 3.0-disk i høst (DriveStation™ HD-HXU3) og lanserte da også et såkalt kontrollerkort (IFC-PCIE2U3) til stasjonære pc-er som gjør det mulig å utnytte den raskere hastigheten til tross for at pc-ens moderkort ikke har støtte for USB 3.0. Få moderkort og enda færre forkonfigurerte pc-er, spesielt bærbare pc-er, har så langt innebygd støtte for USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 er en stor forbedring i hastighet for ekstern lagring og gjennom denne løsningen kan til og med brukere av bærbare pc-er dra nytte av dette. Det drøyer innen pc-leverandørene utruster sine modeller med moderkort som har USB 3.0, men det er ikke lenger et hinder og til og med eldre modeller kan nå utnytte teknologien, sier Paul Hudson, Sales Director Northern Europe hos Buffalo
Pris og tilgjengelighet Buffalo USB 3.0 Express Interface Card finnes på markedet og distribueres i Norge av Actebis og Ingram Micro. Garantitiden er to år. Produktets listenavn er IFC-EC2U3UC.
